Editors

If you scripts contain less than 100 lines of code, Notepad will handle handle the job. However, if you take your scripting seriously, the best way to code more efficiently and accurately is to use a syntax highlighting editor.

The good news: There are many excellent KiXtart-aware editors available. The bad news: Too many decisions!

When it comes to editors, everyone has their favorite one. It's not our position to recommend one editor over another, so we'll just provide a list of as many of them as we can find the time to itemize (there are hundreds of them). Each editor listed here, supports KiXtart (at least through syntax highlighting). Download them, experiment, have fun -- choose one. Then say goodbye to Notepad forever!

Editors specifically designed for KiXtart

AdminScriptEditor  RWK Systems, Inc.
Long list of 'neat' features including Wizards, Intellisense and Macro completion. The standard stuff like syntax highlighting is also present.

An extremely powerful editor that supports KiXtart as well as many other languages. User-definable syntax-highlighting and column mode are just a few of the features in this product. Download our customized WordFile.txt which adds the necessary syntax highlighting for both KiXtart and ScriptLogic!

PrimalScript Sapien
A well-rounded multi-purpose editor that includes KiXtart function and command syntax highlighting (though we're hoping to figure out how to customize the word list so we don't have to rely on the manufacture for an update each time a new version of KiX hits the web).
